Story Behind the Art:
- This rug was handcrafted by village weavers in Mashad who used vegetable-dyed wool to weave it. Due to its handmade nature, the size may vary from the advertised size by 3-4 inches. The majority of the weavers are women who live in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, and India. By creating more jobs for female weavers, the community thrives from rug weaving as local farmers benefit from wool sales and local artisans create natural and vegetable dyes for the weavers to use in their designs.
